Strengthening ethical supply chains: ALDI SOUTH Group adds avocados
The ALDI SOUTH Group continues to expand its responsible sourcing model, adding one fresh produce item at a time. In 2024, avocados joined the strategy, following the successful integration of bananas and pineapples. This initiative underscores the retailer’s commitment to fostering fairer, more transparent supply chains by aligning ethical purchasing with corporate responsibility. With avocados sourced from diverse global regions, this expansion represents a major step toward enhancing sustainability and accountability throughout its supply network.

By committing to long-term partnerships, we are also in a better position to utilise growers’ full crop. Our presence across different markets naturally gives us the opportunity to sell a wide range of avocado calibres matching different consumer preferences. We want to increase our flexibility to accept different calibres wherever possible depending on production conditions as full crop utilisation is a clear and effective way to support growers and give them security to plan ahead.
