The ALDI SOUTH Group is very proud to be ranked sixth out of 36 retailers in the ‘Be Slavery Free’, ‘Mighty Earth’, and the ‘National Wildlife Federation’ annual Easter Chocolate Scorecard. Retailers from around the world were assessed on their contribution to driving positive change in the chocolate and cocoa industry, and among discount retailers, ALDI is even ranked as number one.
ALDI was recognised as a leading contributor to best practice, and further achieved good results in the areas of traceability and transparency, living income, child labour and deforestation and climate.
ALDI customers can enjoy responsibly sourced chocolate at Easter, and for the entire year. The cocoa used in almost all our cocoa-containing products is certified according to ‘UTZ/Rainforest Alliance’ and ‘Fairtrade’. We go beyond certification to become a sustainability frontrunner by collaborating with our partners and by working on projects on the ground.
ALDI is committed to fostering fair working conditions and environmentally friendly production in the cultivation of cocoa. We are continuously improving our processes, so that we can not only have a positive impact on cocoa farmers, but also increase the range of responsibly sourced chocolate products available to our customers.
