Since 2019, the ALDI SOUTH Group has been a member of the Partnership Initiative on living wages of the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles, and is working on the improvement of its purchasing practices, as these can negatively affect the working conditions and wages in production facilities.
The Partnership Initiative on living wages has now entered a new phase and launched the so-called “Living Wage Lab” to support member brands and retailers to develop and implement individual living wage strategies. As a member of the “Living Wage Lab”, we will continue to emphasise our work on living wages with the aim to develop scalable solutions with our business partners in the supply chain.
Our participation in the “Living Wage Lab” is an important step towards implementing the actions set out in our "International Position Statement on Living Wages and Living Incomes".

A living wage ensures that workers and their families can afford "food, water, housing, education, health care, transportation, clothing, and other essential needs including provision for unexpected events.
