Each year, the Chocolate Scorecard ranks chocolate processors and retailers on their sustainability performance in cocoa sourcing. In 2025, we improved our position from 4th to 3rd out of 15 global retailers.
The scorecard acknowledged ALDI's continued progress on traceability and transparency, such as a publicly available child rights policy and supplier information. The ranking reflects ALDI SOUTH Group's cocoa initiatives, that have a measurable impact at origin. Through our commitment to Tony’s Open Chain with our CHOCO CHANGER products and the ECAMOM project in partnership with Fairtrade, we are actively driving improvements in cocoa farming communities and helping to shape a more transparent, fair, and sustainable cocoa value chain for the future.
While there’s still work to be done, the Chocolate Scorecard ranking shows that step-by-step, meaningful change in the cocoa supply chain is possible. The ALDI SOUTH Group remains committed to long-term sustainability and the improvement of human rights in the cocoa sector, building on initiatives that promote fair, ethical and transparent practices.
